Counselling can be helpful in many ways throughout a person's life journey. The following sections highlight where my main experiences lie.

Therapeutic counselling offers a confidential, supportive environment to explore personal challenges, improve emotional well-being, and develop healthier coping strategies, fostering growth, self-awareness, and positive change through professional guidance.

Bereavement counselling offers compassionate support to help individuals cope with grief, loss, and emotional pain after the death of a loved one, guiding them through healing and personal adjustment.

Young people’s mental health counselling provides a safe, supportive space for children and teens to explore emotions, manage challenges, build resilience, and improve well-being during critical stages of development..

Eating disorders are complex conditions that affect peoplephysically emotionally and socially.  They centre on the relationship with food, eating and way someone feels about themselves.

There are times when we feel sad, but depression is something that affects daily life and makes it hard to find enjoyment in normal daily activities. Sessions will look at what depression is, its causes, and how certain changes in approach could help.

Anxiety is described as feelings of worry, fear or unease. It encompasses both the physical and emotional state experienced when we are worried or nervous.

Psychological trauma occurs after a distressing event or a series of events. Experiencing trauma can affect your mental health, leading to you feeling unsafe and on high alert all the time

There are different severities of symptoms in psychological trauma, some are mild and may pass over time, others are more severe (e.g. PTSD) and may need professional treatment. When it comes to trauma, seek help sooner rather than later.

The term Addiction is used to describe when someone is unable to control thier habits and behaviours, to the point where they are become harmful to te individual or the people around them. Examples of addiction include addictions to alcohol, smoking an gambling but there are many other types.

Everyone start out in life with a family, whether that is blood relatives, adopted, or foster family.  Our family experiences influence almost every aspect of our lives, from our first moments to our last.  A family will go through lots of challenges over time and it is normal to experience problems.  Counselling can help to manage those difficult times when they arise.

Sexuality and gender form a big part of our personal identity and those who feel they 'don’t fit' can come up against manychallenges.  People who identify as LGBTQ+ can face discrimination and bullying due to a lack of a wider understandin,g which in turn can lead to mental health concerns.

When we have self-esteem issues, we see ourselves and the world in a negative way.  We may feel unhappy and find it difficult to deal with life's with challenges.
